Coroner's News Release: Body found near NCAR ID'd as missing CU student

UPDATE: June 28, 2012

The Boulder County Coroner's Office has identified the body found near NCAR last week as Nicholas Marc Valore, a 19-year-old CU student from New Orleans. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. The Sheriff's Office does not suspect foul play.

RE:                 Unattended death investigation 12-2201

On Friday June 22, 2012, members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Front Range Rescue Dogs, and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office were assisting officers from the Boulder Police Department with a search for a reported missing person whose vehicle was found in the NCAR parking lot, located at 1850 Table Mesa Drive in the City of Boulder.  At approximately 7:15 pm the body of a Caucasian male was located on a steep slope in the foothills approximately 1 ½ miles west of NCAR in unincorporated Boulder County. 

The incident is currently being investigated by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office. At this time foul play is not suspected.

The Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, once identification has been verified and notification has been made to the next of kin.  The Coroner’s Office will make the final determination as to the cause and manner of the man’s death.
