Safety Update: Woman sexually assaulted at gunpoint south of Boulder

On Sunday night, June 17th, 2012, a female reported that she was the victim of a sexual assault that occurred in a vehicle parked on the side of CO Highway 93 (South Foothills Highway) just south of the city limits of Boulder at approximately 10:00pm.  The male suspect was also in a vehicle and pulled in behind the victim who was parked on the side of the road.  The suspect initially offered help and then  directed the victim from her car at gunpoint. He then sexually assaulted her in his vehicle.  The female was  left on the side of the road and the suspect drove off. 

The victim’s description of the suspect is vague, but he is believed to be a white male. The suspect’s vehicle is possibly a SUV, similar to a Jeep Cherokee.  

Detectives are looking for anyone who may have seen a car and SUV pulled over along the side of the road between 10:00pm and midnight to call the Sheriff’s Office at #303-441-4917.  Information from your call may be crucial in apprehending this individual.
