SUBJECT: CU Police investigating a report of a robbery on campus

CU Police are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred on the east side of Broadway near College Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2011. The incident was reported to police on Jan. 7, 2012.

A robbery is committed when a suspect knowingly takes anything of value from another person by the use of force, threats, or intimidation.

A female victim reported that she was approached by a male suspect on the multi-use path east of Broadway on the CU campus.  The suspect asked if the female had any spare change.  After the female opened her purse to look for change, the suspect pushed the female to the ground, took her purse, and walked away heading south.  The suspect looked in the purse before discarding it on the sidewalk.  No weapons were involved.

The female described the suspect as a white male, possibly homeless, 25-35 years old, about 200 pounds, with either dark hair or a "beanie" style hat, and wearing a large dark jacket.
