Safety Advisory 2013-02: Clery Act timely warning on reported sex assault

RELEASED: August 12, 2013

On the evening of August 2, 2013, a third-party contacted CU Police to report that her friend said she was sexually assaulted by a male on the CU-Boulder campus. The caller said the sex assault occurred between 11 p.m. on August 1 and 2 a.m. on August 2 as her friend was walking through campus to her home in south Boulder. The reporting party provided no other details, including a description of the male suspect, victim’s name or contact information, incident location or details of the reported assault.

This message is being sent pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, a federal law that requires colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to disclose major crime information to prospective and current students and employees.
